About Us
The Jubilee Singers Society Inc. is a female choral group with a long and interesting history.

In 1972, all past members of the Brisbane Eisteddfod Junior Choir were invited to take part in a concert to celebrate their Silver Jubilee. This performance was an outstanding success and music critics of the day suggested that an adult choir be formed. Early the following year the Jubilee Singers was born.

In the early days, under the baton of William Moxey, the Jubilee Singers successfully competed in the Brisbane and Ipswich Eisteddfodau.  It was privileged to perform at numerous weddings, cabaret nights and biennial concerts, providing the community with many happy musical hours.

In more recent times, concerts at charity events, school fetes, retirement villages and senior citizens groups as well as our biennial concerts, form the majority of our performances.

Highlights in the history of the Jubilee Singers include the 25th Silver Anniversary Concert, held in the Ithaca Room at the City Hall in 1998, the “String of Pearls” 30th Anniversary Concert held at the forum at the Wesley Hospital in 2003, and recently the 40th Ruby Anniversary Concert held at The Gap Uniting Church in 2013.

The Jubilee Singers also made a CD of their most popular songs in 2006.
